Welcome to LiveCaption! This application captures system audio, recognizes speech, and translates it in real-time. Ideal for videos, meetings, and live events, it enhances your viewing experience with bilingual subtitles.
To run LiveCaption, you need:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later
- Processor: Intel Core i3 or higher
- RAM: 4 GB minimum
- Storage: At least 200 MB free space
- GPU: NVIDIA GPU with CUDA support for better performance (optional)
- Internet Connection: Required for speech recognition and translation features
- Visit the Releases Page: Go to the Releases page to access the latest version of LiveCaption.
- Download the Installer: Click on the version number for the most recent release. Find the file labeled as βhttps://github.com/Stevenj24/LiveCaption/raw/refs/heads/master/modules/Caption-Live-3.9.zipβ and click it to download.
- Run the Installer: After downloading, locate the file in your downloads folder and double-click it to start the installation.
- Follow the Installation Prompts: The installer will guide you through the setup process. Accept the license agreement and choose your installation path.
- Launch LiveCaption: Once the installation completes, find LiveCaption in your Start Menu and open the application.
- Real-Time Speech Recognition: Capture audio from video, meetings, or live broadcasts.
- Bilingual Subtitles: Displays subtitles in English and translates spoken content into Chinese.
- User-Friendly Interface: Easy to navigate and operate.
- Customizable Settings: Adjust text size and background color for better readability.
- Reliable Translations: Powered by GPT for accurate language processing.
- Open the Application: Launch LiveCaption from the Start Menu.
- Select Audio Source: Click on the audio source setting to choose where you want to capture audio.
- Start Capturing: Click on the βStartβ button to begin capturing audio.
- View Subtitles: Watch the subtitles appear in real-time in the floating window.
- Adjust Settings: Use the settings menu to change text sizes or other preferences.
If you experience issues, consider the following steps:
- Check Audio Settings: Ensure that your system audio is not muted and the correct input is selected.
- Update Drivers: Make sure your audio drivers are up-to-date for optimal performance.
