Bug Report
- I would like to work on a fix!
If development is stalled due to time/interest, I can contribute to maintaining this crate and issuing new releases. Help would be appreciated.
Current Behavior
The latest github commits are ~2 years old, as is the latest crates.io release, so I cannot tell how well maintained this project is. The API is precisely what I need and I haven't found any alternative with this API.

Expected Behavior
There are somewhat frequent releases (maybe at least every 3 months), or there is a blurb near the top of the README that says something like:
While there has been no release since XXX, we believe this crate is stable and usable without outstanding blocking bugs.
-or if it's not true, then either issue a new release that addresses some bugs/limitations, or update the README to point out development is stalled.
