How to set a scale for an input image

Hello, since we are using a camera with fixed spacing to take photos of seeds, could you please let me know how to set the default scale in the software? Also, what are the default units for measuring length and area in the software?

From what I understood, the outputs are given in pixels and should be converted in "real units" from you images resolution and scale.
